Autumn days can make some people feel depressed or tired, especially when it gets dark and cloudy quickly outside. That’s why it’s a good idea to incorporate some elements in your office design that will help alleviate autumn melancholy and improve the mood of your employees.

Plants – green friends of well-being

Plants will help with this. They add life and freshness to rooms and take care of air quality. They perform not only a decorative function in offices, but will also improve the well-being of employees, which can translate into better productivity in the workplace. In office spaces, ferns, areca palms, dracaenas or orchids will be perfect.

Plants in offices can be placed in a variety of places and forms, in the chillout area on the wall, floor or furniture, in the form of decorative moss, and in the conference room in the form of free-standing potted plants. The possibilities are many, and each one makes the space more welcoming and encourages people to spend more time in it.

The power of light – office lighting

Proper lighting will also be a key element. The best solution is access to daylight. If this is not possible in a particular room, it is worthwhile to ensure that there are appropriate lamps that will emit light similar to sunlight.

A neon sign can become a nice variety. It will add energy and character to the space, which can positively influence the creativity of employees.

Space branding and positive colors

Bright colors stimulate the imagination and inspire creative work. They are often the ones we rely on in office spaces. They do not overwhelm, optically brighten the space and allow for striking wall graphics or other more dynamic decorations.

Adding colorful accents through accessories is a great way to bring a positive atmosphere to an interior. Distinctive pillows, rugs and patterned wallpaper will add energy, which we often lack in autumn.

Chillout zones

When arranging an office and planning its space branding, it is worth keeping in mind relaxation and chillout areas for employees. Zones where they can rest, relax and get away from the routine. Comfortable armchairs, soft carpets, the smell of coffee – all these small elements will evoke positive associations and allow you to gain strength for the rest of the day.

Wayfinding – good organization of space

An orderly and well-organized space and effective wayfinding can help reduce stress and influence a better well-being for all users. Order, consistent room design elements without distractions and random decorations are key to keeping employees focused.

In our projects, we always take care of these elements to make the office a pleasant place to work even on gloomy days. Helping employees maintain a good mood results in their higher attendance and engagement, which translates into higher profits for business owners.
