The Pratia Clinical Research Center, based in Krakow, is a place for which we have done comprehensive wayfinding and space branding of the space. It belongs to the Network of Clinical Research Centers – it is made up of more than 90 centers in six European countries that provide access to innovative therapies at their facilities. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In a space such as a medical facility, it is particularly important to design an effective wayfinding system that will ensure that even people who are visiting the place for the first time will easily reach their destination. This is a public place with heavy traffic, often including elderly people who would like to get to a certain point as quickly as possible – that’s why well-executed wayfinding is a key element in this case. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Challenges when designing wayfinding<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Medical facilities are usually characterized by a multiplicity of rooms for various types of treatments or medical examinations. In the case of wayfinding design for Pratia Clinic, this very thing turned out to be one of the more serious challenges – which, of course, we met. In such a situation, you need to design signs and wayfinders in great detail, clearly and unambiguously showing the way to the destination. We have a certain proven way to design effective wayfinding in such a place, which we are happy to share with you. In order for the signposts to easily and quickly guide the patient to the right place, we decided to take on the skin of the patient, traversing the path from the entrance to the various rooms, and thus placed the various elements of wayfinding in the right places. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Another challenge we faced was to find a solution that would allow cyclical changes in the naming of clinics. The Pratia Clinical Research Center is in a stage of constant development, with new clinics being created all the time and more specialists being hired, whose names should be included on the information board. The client here proposed the use of magnetic boards, which allow the appearance of the list of dispensaries along with the names of doctors to be adjusted to the current state of affairs. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

One of the challenges in this project was that the Clinic’s clients are very often elderly people, so the wayfinding system we designed had to meet their expectations. The wayfinding elements we created are highly visible, even from a distance, and contrasting – the green-colored signs and semaphores catch the eye, directing patients to the appropriate offices. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
