Silesian Provincial Office

in Katowice

The implementation of the signage project for the Silesian Provincial Office in Katowice is a comprehensive approach to ensuring legibility and functionality in public spaces.

As the Authority mainly serves foreigners, a key aspect of this project was to ensure legibility for people with different language needs and fluidity in navigating the facility.

The entire system was based on suggestive pictograms, which significantly facilitated navigation and identification of individual points in the office.

We designed four large directional signs strategically placed in the main lobby, with each message in one of four languages: Polish, English, Ukrainian and Russian. In the service room, we placed signage and job numbering consistent with the entire system.

Information desks, photo/xerox point and toilets
with two-sided semaphore signs visible from a distance and, in addition, placards above the doors. Office premises
have also been marked with legible placards.

Key to this project was a combination of legibility, functionality and multilingualism, resulting in optimal ease of movement and errands for visitors to this important office.
